1. There is one
God, infinitely perfect, eternally existent in three Persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19)
2. Jesus Christ is
truly God and truly Man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born
of a virgin, Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross
for the sins of all mankind. He was buried and on the third day
bodily rose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He
ascended bodily to heaven and there is seated at the right hand
of God making intercession for us. He will come again in His
body just as He ascended into heaven, to raise the dead in
Christ and gather together with them those who are alive and are
His, taking us all up to meet Him in the air. (Matt 1:18; Luke
2:52; Heb 4:15; Heb:10:10; 1Cor 15:1-4; Heb 1:3; 8:1; 1Thess
4:17)
3. The Holy Spirit
is a person of the Godhead sent to indwell, guide, teach and
empower the believer and to convict the world of sin
righteousness and judgement. (John 14:16; 26. Genesis 1:2)
4. The Old and New
Testament Scriptures are inerrant as originally given, are
verbally inspired and are a complete revelation of God's will
concerning the salvation of man and of faith and practice for
the Christian life. (Prov 30:5; 2Tim. 3:16; Matt 5:18) We also
believe that, the King James Bible is the preserved infallible
Word of God in English and that all later translations
translations derived from the Alexandrian stream of texts take
from and add to the Word of God as condemned by De 12:32;
Proverbs 30:5; Revelation 22:18
5. Because of the
sin of Adam, the father of all mankind after the flesh, man died
physically and spiritually. Consequently, every man is born
under the condemnation of Adam's sin and therefore under the
judgement of God. Man is unable to save himself from the penalty
of sin, God's wrath in judgement. Man may only be redeemed from
the penalty of sin through believing in, trusting in and relying
on Jesus Christ alone for salvation. (Rom 5:12;17)
6. Baptism of new
believers by immersion in water, upon their commitment to Jesus
Christ in repentance for salvation, is the requirement of the
Lord Jesus as a mark of personal and public witness and
commitment to the new life. The promise of God is that they will
receive (be baptized, be filled with) the Holy Spirit. (Matt.
28:19; Acts 2:38)
7. When a person
is truly born again (John 3:3; 1Pet.1:23) he is baptized in
(filled with, receives) the Holy Spirit by the Lord Jesus to
receive power for witness and gifts for ministry. This baptism
in the Holy Spirit is received at the time of /immediately after conversion.
The Bible teaches that God wants us to keep on being filled with
the Holy Spirit: Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is
excess; but be filled [present continuous] with the Spirit;
8. All the gifts
of the Holy Spirit are available today and are to be exercised
in the Fellowship in the power of the Spirit and accompanied by
the fruit of the Spirit I Cor. 12-14 and Galatians 5:16-26.
Note: We
believe that the gift of Apostle is current through the writings
of the Apostles (in the Bible) and we refer to them for the
guidance of this office and that there are no Apostles ordained
since the Apostle Paul as his case was unique as one born out
of due time. 1 Corinthians 15:7-9
Experience
has taught us to be wary of those who claim that certain gifts
may be "claimed." The Bible clearly teaches that But all these
worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man
severally as he will. 1 Corinthians 12:11. It is
God the Holy Spirit's prerogative to choose who gets which gift
(s).
We have
also observed that according to 2 Thessalonians 2:11 the Enemy
is able to produce counterfeit gifts which appear to be gifts of
the Holy Spirit, deceiving those who received not the love of
the truth. That many who claim to be believers but refuse to
hear the truth when it does not coincide with their own values
and reasonings are deceived into thinking that "revivals" they
witness are of God - but they are not.
